Happiedays Roadmap

Happiedays make your own newspaper roadmap
  1. Choose a title for your newspaper
Once you know what you want your newspaper to be about, you’ll need to come up with a fitting title. For example, “Jack and Lucy’s Anniversary Newspaper”. Including the word “newspaper” in your title is always a good idea, but it’s completely up to you, of course. The possibilities are endless. As long you remember to always keep your target audience in mind.

  2. Choose your content
Now you can get started with making your own newspaper. A newspaper is a collection of texts, titles, photos, and other graphics (e.g. cartoons). Which photos and graphic elements are you going to use? Are you going to write your own articles or have you found fitting content online? Either way, make sure you’ve come prepared! Why not gather all your content in a single folder on your computer? That will make the process of making your newspaper much simpler and could save you a lot of headache.

  3. Design your newspaper
The layout of your newspaper is an important part of the process. It’s important to have a certain (albeit, rough) idea of how you want your newspaper to look. Without one, things could get a bit confusing and messy.

To help you out, we’ve prepared several newspaper templates on our websites with lots of different design and layout possibilities. If you’d like, you can choose one of these templates and simply substitute the images and texts with your own.
Or maybe these templates have given you enough inspiration to come up with your own newspaper design? In that case, it’s best to grab a pen and a piece of paper and make a rough sketch of your design as you allocate where you want to place your images and texts. A friendly reminder: keep in mind the size of the newspaper (tabloid format) when sketching your design to avoid any miscalculations and frustrations. As soon as your sketch is ready you can get started with designing your newspaper online:

  • Choose the number of pages you want your newspaper to have. This can always be adjusted at any point during the process.
  • Click and drag building blocks (texts, titles, rectangles, circles, lines) to the pages of your newspaper and adjust for colour, size, rotation, etc.
  • Under the “Images” tab, you can upload your own photos or take a look at our stock images.
  • You can also upload PDF files to your newspaper. But make sure your newspaper has the same (or more) number of pages as your PDF file.
  • Under “Settings”, you can change the name of your newspaper and identify the chief editor of your newspaper.
  1. Save your newspaper

  2. Click on “Order newspaper
A PDF version of your newspaper will now be generated.

  3. You can now preview of your newspaper – with and without address zone.

  4. Identify the recipients of your newspaper (yourself, existing contacts, or new contacts) and the number of copies you want them to receive.

  5. Next, click on “Add to shopping cart”.

  6. Double check the PDF file of your newspaper as well as the number of copies ordered and have a look at the estimated shipping and delivery date. Enter your promotional code if you have one. Check the box indicating that you’re satisfied with the PDF file, the total price and the terms and conditions. Then click on “Continue to payment”.

  7. The online payment can be done by Visa, MasterCard, Maestro or PayPal.

That’s it! Now just sit back and relax, and we’ll make sure your newspapers are printed and delivered to your recipients!
